When Rip Cantrell, a seismic surveyor in the Sahara, spots a glint of reflected light in the distance, he is intrigued. A piece of metal is apparently entombed in the sandstone and Rip uncovers a vessel that has been resting there for 140,000 years.

The discovery doesn't remain a secret for long. The US Air Force UFO investigation team arrive on the scene; an Australian billionaire wants to steal the ship's secrets; and the Libyan military are also determined to get hold of the saucer.

But Rip isn't about to relinquish his discovery, and, with the help of ex-Air Force test pilot Charley Pine, he works out a way to get the amazing device away form those who are so desperate to claim it...
