Badged into the Regiment after service with the Royal Green Jackets, Hunter was involved in covert operations ranging from extracting hostages in Sierra Leone to counter-terrorist operations in Northern-Ireland; from the siege at Waco, Texas, to training the Colombian police who finally ran drugs baron Pablo Escobar to ground. He left the Regiment to fight the Russians in Afghanistan - the most aggressive war of modern times - walking in with Stinger ground-to-air missiles and gifts of gold for the Mujahideen.
