Win Smith, an artist from Phoenix, Arizona, worked as a newspaper cartoonist and illustrator in the 1920s. In January 1930, he inked the first 'Mickey Mouse' daily strips that were pencilled by Ub Iwerks, and scripted by Walt Disney himself. In February and May of that same year, he did both pencils and inks. Apparently not content to draw the entire strip on his own, he resigned and handed the daily over to Floyd Gottfredson, who continued it for several decades.
